9205 Table Lamp

The 9205 is a classic, designed by Paavo Tynell, and was first produced around 1950. Elegant and slender, the lamp’s apparently simple form conceals an extraordinary degree of craftsmanship and highly skilled hand-making. The stem is milled with a rattan-like pattern, created by a metalsmith using a lathe with great precision and attention to detail to mimic the effect of a series of overlapping strips. A brass plate, screwed into the stem, keeps the shade in place.
